Booked last minute as we had taken a wrong turn on a motorbike tour and ended up the wrong side of a mountain pass, relatively cheap on booking.com and included breakfast. Large car park which was relatively empty as out of season. Room was large and 2 comfy double beds. Bath and shower and plenty of storage space. Unfortunately what let's the place down the most is the state of the corridors and stairways, carpet stained, threadbare and sticking up in places. Looks like its desperate for a refurb. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, but plenty to eat. All staff very friendly and helpful. Out of town at the top end - but fine for us as we like a walk before and after dinner.

This is a big hotel with economical prices to match. We stayed four nights and had breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was always the same, but the dinner differed a little each night and ranged from OK to quite good. The room was good. Nothing special, although not lacking anything. The bathroom was nice and the shower always had hot water and decent water pressure. However, the doors to the rooms are very very thin and this meant lots of noise coming in from the corridor outside. In fact, this is my biggest criticism of the hotel. The staff were very, very friendly. They deserve a lot of praise. Everyone from the reception to those attending us at each meal were wonderful!
