I really wish I could give this hotel five stars, because the family who run this place are lovely. However, I genuinely hope that the issues I highlight here can be addressed so that in future this hotel can be even more appealing. Firstly, let me begin by saying what I like about this place: I ate breakfast and dinner on each day that I spent here. Dinner was different from one evening to the next and I enjoyed all the meals. I believe some of the family members who run the hotel worked in the restaurant. Their customer service was always excellent. The room I stayed in had a modern bathroom. It was clean and the shower had very good water pressure. The hotel Wifi was also very good. It offered a strong connection no matter which part of the buildung I was in. My biggest problem though, relates to my room. However, before I explain this, it's worth mentioning my initial impression when entering the hotel. You realise pretty quickly when you come in here that this place is probably like no other. It is full of random collections of different objects. And when I say full, I really mean full! Every conceivable space is occupied with a series of old and odd objects. It's a museum, but without the explanations. With all these objects around, it is impossible to keep the hotel clean. There's also a lot of old furniture which is probably here as collectables rather than to be used. Unfortunately, the smell from the upholstery on the old chairs in particular, was not pleasant. Then I go upstairs to my room and the first thing I notice when I open the door, is the same bad smell. The room was clean, but I think it was the furniture or cupboards within it, that made it smell that way. And it smelt this way the entire time, no matter the windows being open all day. The smell gives the sense that the hotel needs a deep clean. The smell also put me off from wanting to be in the communal areas of the hotel and in general a bad small gives a poor impression on cleanliness. As I said earlier, I'm sorry to be giving three stars and I really wish the best for the future of this family run hotel.

I've been going here for 30 years and don't intend to stop. There's simply nowhere else like it and certainly not in the Pyrenees. Same family through the generations for the last 85 years, good food, decent rooms and a magic atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel while on a group trip. The hotel was amazing overall, and the staff were very accommodating and willing to help when we asked. While the rooms were great, the food was okay and the rooms were fine.

Some of the rooms are refurbished, but others are not. Take this into account, particularly if you're tall. The environment is great
